  • And the significance of that date?
Well August 18, 1969 was the last day of the
Woodstock Music and Art FairAn Aquarian Exposition: In White Lake NY3 Days of Peace and Music.
Actually it went four days, ending early in the morning with Jimi Hendrix completely blowing up the National Anthem.
So for all us codgers who remember that time, here's one for us.
Picked the vid  especially for you Al *evil grin*.

  • So, the hubster has been over  this weekend. YAY, a good thing.
He's been watching World Cup Rugby almost non-stop.  BOO HISS.  I'm still not forgiving you for that one Nipps.
For those of you who don't have a clue about what rugby is, well you take the most incomprehseble parts of Futbol and Football, smash them together and voila, rugby.  I mean what's with that scrum thing?  And a Try? The way I see it, trying is what you do to make a goal, not achieving it.
But I will admit it is the best collection of thighs and butts I've ever seen on men in my life. And they do bend over a lot.

  • 09/12/11--07:10: O.......M......G!! (chan 2812089)

  • 09/23/11--06:55: Since the Hubster is Out of Town... (chan 2812089)
  • And our resident Scrumhead probably has laryngitis or is resting her throat for the BIG and I do mean BIG fixture (see I'm learning) tonight, the All Blacks versus the *Gag* French.
So anywhooooooo, I'm here to give you the results of the game played last night 09/23/11 (ROFL  I love the time difference makes me look all psychic and stuff), between the Wallabies and the Eagles.  That would be the Australia/US.
Needless to say, the US lost, big time. 67 - 5.  It wasn't as if there were that many people who thought the US was going to win, but they were betting the Eagles would cover the spread.
Anyway, this is a great action shot of last night's game.  It's a completely legal tackle.  Try that in the NFL and we're talking major penalties,  face mask, unsportsman like conduct, clipping maybe, 15 yard penalty at least. Okies I'm starting to appreciate rugby.

  • 10/23/11--13:08: My Real Life, What Was I Thinking Moment. (chan 2812089)
  • Being the good wifey I am and wanting to save the hubster from more broken bones I, in a moment of weakness, or self preservation suggested to the big lug he watch the World Cup Rugby Finals and Game 4 of the World Series here,  invite a few friends over, make it a party.
The last time I counted there were seven of his rugby hooligan friends downstairs, probably more now since I've heard the doorbell ring a couple of times since then.
Basically I threw some meat in their direction and  filled the fridge with beer before running upstairs to escape the testosterone poisoning.
There was a pre-game show for the Cup but I knew the second when the action started.  Heard the NZ national anthem being sung (a few ex-pat Kiwis on the hubsters rugby team) and then the chanting.  Ya know the haka is kinda scary.
I'm also upstairs because I know who won te he he he he.  It was too funny to see grown men covering their ears and going "LA LA LA LA LA can't hear you" wh...

During Ri and Tonio's wedding there were two tiny voices who spoke up when Father Michael asked the "Let them speak now" question.
Everyone thought it was cute except for Emilio when he heard Evie scream out Antonio's name.  You could almost hear his little heart break right there on the spot.
And he pouted and moped and whimpered around the house for what seemed like an eternity.
I'll give credit where credit is due, Al for once took Emilio's side and brought Evie over to apologize,  a very sweet thing to do Al  *MUAH*
After a few tense moments between the rug rats, yes there were tears and blood shed. They made up and above are the results.  Thanks for taking the pic Raffa, it is so cute.
Ya know, don't really know what to think about those two babies.   On the one hand,if little kids are friends, well that's it they're friends and have no probs about showing each other they like them, and haven't yet gotten the concept of what's social proper.
    Then ag...

Got these in the mail from one of our friends. I was kinda puzzled when Raffa looked at them, huffed and let them drop on the chair. Found out later, that when I was clowning around with Rene, Raffa's head almost went sploody. Sorry

    Sorry babes, stuff happens.

Who else but Canadians could put a positive spin on the shortest day of the year.   EH.

    Here comes the sun

Today is the shortest and darkest day of the year, but it also kicks off six months in which each day gets longer and brighter, Tom Spears reports

OTTAWA — Winter officially arrived today at 12: 30 a.m. Ottawa time. That means that already, just a few hours later, the sun is shifting back toward the north and the days are getting longer.

While today is the shortest and darkest day of the year (eight hours 42 minutes 49 seconds of daylight), it also kicks off six months in which each day will be longer and brighter than the one before it.

Here's the first day of winter by the numbers, with an assist from the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Unit...
